The Deps Sakamata Shad Heavy Weight Soft Jerkbait has a higher salt content than the regular Deps Sakamata Shad and is intended for fishing in the middle or bottom sections of the water column. Deps placed a higher concentration of salt near the bottom of the bait for better balance. And while the higher salt content makes the plastic appear more cloudy than the regular model, the darting action is maintained.

The Deps Sakamata Shad Heavy is as smooth as the normal version with little water resistance, so the keels on both sides of the body can give the bait a natural darting and jumping action. The keel is the secret. The design of the Sakamata Shad Heavy model also enables water to flow through it, resulting in distinctive darting action. Additionally, the keels function as rudders, enhancing the shad jerkbait's darting action. Fish quickly to generate reaction bites – the easy side-to-side darts certainly appeal to the predatory instinct in bass! The split tail further aids in imitating the movement of a baitfish. A split-shot or Carolina rig helps it dart near the bottom. With its exceptional performance, the Deps Heavy Sakamata Shad definitely is one to add to your baits for mid-range to deep-water fishing.

  • Darting and jumping action
  • Smooth body for low water resistance
  • Hook slot to make sure it is rigged straight (recommended hook size: # 3/0 offset hook)
  • Heavy Weight material: salt content of the material on the 5 in. model is 75%, and it possesses the strength to hold hooks securely, reducing tearing and breaking
  • Rigging options: weightless on an EWG hook; use split-shot or a Carolina rig for deep water targets; rigging the hook slightly curved allows for a more intense and unpredictable darting action
  • Quantity per Pack: 6
